Mutant Year Zero A bunch of new (and old) games are coming to Xbox One. Three new games are landing on Xbox Games Pass, Microsoft’s ‘Netflix of video games’, while another batch of older titles is now backwards compatible on the Xbox One. Let’s take a look at all these new additions, starting with the backwards compatibility games. New Xbox One Backwards Compatible Titles All three new titles announced for backwards compatibility are available as we speak. • Aliens vs Predator • Sonic Unleashed • Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning I’m happy to see Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning on this list. I haven’t played that game in ages, but it was a really fun action-RPG and a great first (and last) effort for 38 Studios. ![]() The insane story of that developer—founded by Major League Baseball pitcher Curt Schilling—is one fraught with controversy, legal battles and financial disaster. But the game itself was cool and I’d definitely play it again. Kingdoms of Amalur Xbox Games Pass December Games For Xbox Games Pass subscribers, three new games—one brand new, two fairly new—are headed to Xbox One. The first is already out on the service. November 29th: The Gardens Between I have yet to play this one, but it looks like a great puzzler and it’s gotten a strong reception from fans and critics alike. December 4th: Mutant Year Zero This is one I should have a review out for soon. It’s a turn-based post-apocalyptic tactical game in the vein of XCOM: Enemy Unknown and it looks great. I can’t wait. The world needs lots and lots of XCOM-likes. December 6th: The Strange Brigade A fun co-op shooter all about adventuring in exotic lands and shooting hordes of monsters. Think of all those old movies like King Kong and the like. No, for now you'll just have make do with the most recent additions that include The Darkness, The Bureau, Alien vs Predator, Kingdoms of Amalur and way more Final Fantasy 13 games then I remember being released originally.
